HTC SYNC Manager connect issues after Lollipop update for HTC One M8 (AT&T)

Prior state of phone was a HTC One M8 on stock AT&T ROM Android 4.4.2. Prior to update I was able to connect to the SYNC manager (V3.1.67.0) and perform backups and restores. Downloaded the latest ROM update 4.28.502.2 for the M8 from the HTC site (Android 5.0.2). After the update I am no longer able to connect to the SYNC Manager. I spent 4 hours with their tech support with no success. Any help is appreciated.
